SpeedFan is a program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info and show hard disk temperatures. SpeedFan supports SCSI disks too. SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some hardware (but this should be considered a bonus feature). SpeedFan can access digital temperature sensors and can change fan speeds accordingly, thus reducing noise.

SpeedFan can find almost any hardware monitor chip connected to the 2-wire SMBus (System Management Bus (trademark belonging to SMIF, Inc.), a subset of the I2C protocol) and works fine with Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP and Windows Vista. It works with Windows 64 bit too.

Ripples is a screen saver for Microsoft Windows that puts life into static backgrounds. Suitable for Ripples are pictures with a large water surface which can be animated.

A wide range of settings affects e.g. wave direction, wave count, wave frequency and wave amplitude (please see the screenshot of the settings dialog).

In order to use different settings for different background images, Ripples is able to create profiles. A profile contains all settings you can adjust in the user interface. WikiTaxi enables you to read, search, and browse Wikipedia offline. No Internet connection is needed, all pages are stored in a WikiTaxi database. Because Wikipedia is constantly growing, WikiTaxi uses compression to make sure that the database stays reasonably small. The huge English Wikipedia easily fits on a 8 GB memory stick.

WikiTaxi is multilingual, which means that you can use it for Wikipedias from different languages (see screenshots). It also works well with the dictionary and quotation Wikis, if you like. You can also save multiple Wikis to disk and use all of them with WikiTaxi.

WikiTaxi is up to date. It works with the original Wikipedia database dumps, which are updated regularly every few weeks or so. If you feel that your offline Wikipedia is getting too old, you can go online to download a more recent version or just copy it from a friend.

WikiTaxi is simple: It requires no installation. Just extract the WikiTaxi archive to any folder, that's all. This folder can be on a fixed hard drive, or a portable device like memory stick or flash card.
